Bug/feature suggestion: Auto Climb + ClimbPro

Hi

Is there a way to enable the ClimbPro screen to be "triggered" by the Auto Climb feature?

In Auto Climb settings, you can select which screen is activated when you start climbing. For some reason I am unable to select ClimbPro (does not come up as an option).

This would be extremely useful for trail/mountain/ultra running so you can better manage climbing effort without having to fiddle with the watch screens on every climb.
  • dkatchalov Are you saying that you do not have the ‘ClimbPro’ setting in your settings?

Settings -> Activities & Apps Climb -> Climb Settings -> ClimbPro

I think what he’s saying, and I agree, is it would be great to have the watch switch to the ClimbPro screen when the watch auto detects a climb via Auto Climb. As it stands now, you have to manually scroll through screens during your run to get to ClimbPro. Not really fun to do while you all out on a climb. Would be great for the watch to send you right there.
  • kskilskyj Thank you for clearing that suggestion up for me. I will pass the suggestion on for you.

kskilskyj is spot on with his description of my suggestion.

I actually think that ClimbPro is a killer feature for trail/mountain/ultra runners (& possibly cyclists, although I am not a cyclist). It almost gives us an unfair advantage with the ability to visualise the climb length, vertical gain and gradient, which is key to being able to accurately manage intensity & not cook yourself on the initial stages of the climb.

If my feature suggestion could be implemented, that would make this an even better feature & require less fiddling with the watch when you're already going all out on a climb.

This is spot on. I used it backpacking last weekend and it was awesome to know the elevation profile and length of the climb so I could push hard but not cook myself.

My partners all appreciated me telling them that "the next half mile will suck"

  • womderimh if there was any traction in this? would be great to be able to select climbpro
  • In terms of ClimbPro, I often find it doesn't quite get the right parts of a climb. It would be great to be able to draw a route and select where you believe a climb starts/stops. The auto feature is clever, but often marks a super long climb of 2% average, rather than the actual climb as shorter but at 10% for instance.
