Recommended Bluetooth Headphones for 5+

Hi,

Anyone have any BT headphone recommendations for the 5+? Looking for running and cycling. dcrainmaker uses the Skullcandy Method which look decent. I basically don’t want them falling out while I’m moving around and I also want to be able to hear traffic decently. Any other suggestions? Not looking to break the bank.

My previous setup was an iPod shuffle (clip version) with some in earbuds on a wire. But the wire would move around and eventually pull out the bud.

Thanks,

Anker Soundcore Spirit working fine for me. No dropouts so far.
  • Hello, All. I'm new to these forums but found them through researching. I have a Fenix 5x Plus worn on the left wrist. I have paired with the Jabra Elite Active 65T and the Jaybird Tarah Pro. Previously, using software version 6.0 I had many dropouts on both using inside the gym and outside for a run. I have since updated to software version 6.72 Beta and now have a solid connection with both devices and still wearing the watch on my left wrist. Hopefully this can help anyone else experiencing these issues.

I bought the Anker Soundbuds Flow. Once i test them, i'll tell you if they're working properly.

I support Anker Soundbuds because I am using and feel better than my apple 1st gen. Also, you can check this post there affordable and quality product https://bestbudgetearbuds.com/audio/best-budget-earbuds-earphones/
  • Do you have a 5 or 5s plus? With my 5s there is constant intermittence when my hand cross my body.

  • are you using the original backbeat fit? 5 or 5s?

  • Fenix 5+ and Jabra Elite Sport. Pairing ok, listening to music OK unless I'm performing activity - then dropouts come. Returned pair of earbuds and got new one, issue is the same :-( Don't know where the issue is Garmin/Jabra? My expectation is definitely not met.

  • Have the same combo and haven't had any issues. They pair up quickly and don't drop out while running/walking outdoors or at the gym on the treadmill (I wear watch on right arm). Had a music 645 previously no reception issues either, but the watch was real buggy as far as pairing or it would just cease to play randomly while on a run. The 5+ has been a treat other than the treadmill calibration has been bad.

  • I have the Jabra Active 65t.  At first they kept coming out of my regardless of ear piece.  I bought the Comply Sport Pro ear tips and wow!  Awesome combo.  Don't buy the ones recommended by Comply for the Jabra.  They are meant to fit in the case and have no foam.  The Sport Pro are awesome.  Just keep the plastic container they come in and take off the tips when you are done so the ear buds fit in the case.  Awesome combo.

I also have and love the Jaybird X4.  I put the comply on those too but you don't need to.  I just like having no cord with the Jabra.  Also - pair and connect to your phone before connecting to Fenix 5x+.  Sounds absurd but that's how you avoid pairing issues.

  • I've had the fenix 5x+ and jabra active 65t for about a year. At first they dropped out connection alot, i think it was because I ran with the HRM tri which was also BT.

The last 3 months they have been perfect, I did notice if I take out the jabra's they connect to my phone and my watch is connected to my phone, then I start music on my watch and start jogging away from my car the jabra/fenix trying to stay connected to my phone makes dropouts happen more. If i turn BT off on my phone after I start playing music from fenix to jabras I hardly get any dropouts when I start. Other than that it's just if I'm standing there and my watch is pressed against my left side it might dropout a bit.

Overall very happy works great together.
