Fenix 5s- how to see current coordinates

I just got my Fenix 5s and was hoping to use it to help with geocaching. Specifically, I want to see my current coordinates (and see them change as my location changes) so I can then see where I need to go to get to my desired coordinates. I don't want to take the time to type in desired coordinates every time since I typically know the general location, just need my actual location to narrow it down. I can't find any information of where I can see this, only saving my current location or navigating to a certain point. I feel like this should be a pretty easy thing to do, but can't find any info or workaround.

Does anyone have any info on this? TIA
  • There are a number of Connect IQ apps that will show your lat/lon, or you can use a standard data field in an activity. Location is under the Navigation option for a data field.

There's handy little trick to this: Set any hotkey to Dual Grid (Settings -> System -> Hot Keys). Dual Grid screen will show you coordinates in LAT/LON (which you want for Geocaching) and you current coordinate system (which is usually LAT/LON too, so you'll see it twice, but well). Unlike Mark Location screen, it will update continuously. Like Mark Location, you can press Start to mark location. Like any hotkey, it's accessible from any activity or a watch mode (it just needs to acquire GPS signal if GPS is not running).

Thank you, combined with a paper map that is all I need. Digital map a bonus.

  • Awesome, thank you!  Works for fenix 6 too.
