Fenix 5 Plus vs FR935

Picked up my new Fenix 5 Plus Titanium watch during my lunch break. I love the colour of the titanium bezel+the orange band looks great!
I noticed that this thing is crazy quick in comparison with my current FR935- there are some new menu options as well.

Finally, true up seems to work really well so far. Every piece of data gets carried over from one watch to the other pretty quickly

I look forward to taking it out on a test run this evening!
  • Nice!
looking forward to read what you think about GPS compared to your 5x.
I ordered one as well, waiting for it.
  • I don’t actually own a 5X any more- I got rid of it a while back. I do need to update my signature.
  • I initially planned on getting the 5X Plus but it’s just as thick and the only differences now are the new sensor+better battery life.
  • I am very interested in replacing my FR935 with a new Fenix 5 Plus. Would be interested in your views. I am really tempted just to get the better looks, is it much heavier? Does WiFi work well compared to F5 which had issues?

I am mainly interested in running, hiking, cycling, gym and golf.

    Thanks
  • If you're worried about weight you really should consider the titanium bezel version. Having owned a fenix 3 HR titanium (titanium bezel) it does make a noticeable difference on your wrist.

My 935 is featherweight, but I do actually miss having something more substantial and rugged on my wrist. But no way can I justify the price of the fenix 5 plus titanium!
  • The Titanium edition is silly money especially with no discounts being available.
  • I'll be upgrading from my FR935 in a couple weeks. I would have already bought it, but I am racing IMCDA 70.3 this weekend and I am waiting until afterwards to upgrade. I'm trying to decide between the titanium or the Black w/ Black leather band models. I'll probably go down to REI or something to see them in person to decide. Or maybe they will have some at the Ironman village that I can scope out.
  • Having just switched to the 935 because of gps issues on two fenix 5s, I would wait several months to see if the plus has fixed the instan pace issues so many of us have had.
  • Would be great to see a comparison of GPS accuracy between F5 plus and 935. There are many people on the forum reporting better accuracy of 935 compared to the "old" F5.
Someone who can do the same run with the two watches?
  • if weight is an issue, look at the 5s Plus

    5s plus is 42 x 42 x 15.4 mm and 65g ( so 2g lighter than the 5) from a quick google vs the 935 at 47 x 47 x 13.9 mm and 49g

    5 plus is 47 x 47 x 15.8 mm 86 g, Titanium version: 76 g
