no update of training status when using stored hr-date from hrm-Tri

Hello,

I have a Fenix 5. Currently running on beta 8.99.

I am experiencing problems with updating the training status when I make a acitivity with HRM-Tri and downloading the heart rate data after the activity.

Training load and training effect is calculated in the right way.

Here is the activity:
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/2734563938

and attached screenshot from the training load.

It is also interesting that in the „last activity“ widget on the fenix 5 it only shows 50kcal – the activity itself shows 684kcal.

Is somebody else experiencing this problem too? what are your thougts about it.

many thanks for your help.

  • Was it happening before 8.99b?
  • Hello,

i think this has never happened.

I found 2 similar acitivties. one with stable version 8.0.0.0 (15th of may 2018) and one with version 5.84 (15th september 2017). both show similar patterns.

  • So,it looks like it is a problem with 8.99b. That suggests a choice. Either revert back to the latest stable version, or wait until Garmin release the next stable version with a fix. And of course, you've contacted the beta development team haven't you?
  • Rather than downloading the activity seperately with the HRM-Tri, wait a couple of minutes at the Resume/Save screen for the HR data to download from the strap BEFORE saving, rather than downloading afterwards. That way the HR data gets matched to the activity directly.
  • thank you for the info. I will give it a try. I was not aware that the watch auto-download the data before saving!

When do i know that the watch has finished this process?

  • For activities where the belt and watch were always connected, it should be instantaneous. For activities where they weren't connected (eg. swimming, leaving the watch on the sidelines when playing contact sports), allow a couple of minutes
  • Hello, after some testing to get this working on my new Fenix 5 plus I can say these actions do not help me to get any change in the training status.

yesterday I did an activity with 50 Hours of recovery time - but no update in Training Status (only 9 Points). I can wait as Long as i want in the resume/save screen - that doesnt help.

Maybe somebody has another hint for me to get this working?

I'm having the same issue. When I sent e-mail to Garmin support in February 2019, I got answer that this is not a fault but property.
