The weather location origin is broadcast across the internet from regional weather locations around the world. If you do not live close enough to that broadcast location, you will see the difference to what your smartphone is giving you for your exact location. You can adjust the settings of your Connect Mobile APP. It may help improve the information being received.

problem is it shows different degrees on now page and hourly page. Hourly page is correct. Now page is always couple degrees lower. On my rwo pictures you can see different degrees. Weather wont jump from 13c 19:42 to 18c 20:00.
Given your experience is over the last 2 years, you have done everything you can. Your regional weather station is not close enough to you.
Ok. But can you give me a answer why hourly degrees is different? If it says 20:00 18 degrees. Why eheb 20:00 comes it is not 18. Always lower by2-3 degrees? Then 21:00 says someting higher than now
It pulls the temperature approximately every 20 minutes if your phone is connected to the internet and your watch is Bluetooth connected to your GCM APP and smartphone. The temperature comes from your nearest weather station that is being broadcast free across the internet.
G-Chris,
I use both an Edge and a Garmin watch and could track down which is the weather station is used by GC and where exactly are the boundary areas of this primary national weather station used by the only international airport of my country. Its WMO code is 12843. The details of the station is here weather.gladstonefamily.net/.../12843
My problem is that GC and thus my Garmin devices give me a different temperature data than other sources using by the same official weather station. Certainly at the same timestamp.
Like here https://www.weatheronline.co.uk/weather/maps/city?ART=temperatur&LANG=en&CEL=C&SI=kph&TIME=std&CONT=euro&LAND=HU®ION=0001&WMO=12843&R=0&LEVEL=140&NOREGION=1&SORT=__&TEMP=___&WETTER=__&&TYP=__&SEITE=0.
Even the elevation data of the weather station is the very same as the station with WMO code 12843. Not just the descriptive location name. So I am quite sure we speak about the same station.
I started to investigate it, because in the heat the native Garmin Weather widget tends to use a lower temperature (2-3 C degrees) than I could see everywhere, so my Heat Acclimation is distorted a bit. Certainly the data are not always lower, but these are the moments which annoy me.
Is there any way to fo further in my track-down? Can you give us, users, more pieces of info how Garmin exactly receives these data? Which is the channel? I guess Garmin contracted with some entity being different then all the individual stations.
I surmise that there may be a bug, maybe at the side of the station, maybe at the contracted party, but I cannot report to anybody right now, because the reps of the station say that all the services providers which publish their data use the correct data with the correct timestamp.
Brw I found a discussion where I found out that there are other codes than the WMO code used by Garmin, and displayed on Edge devices, namely the WSI code. Interestingly the guy who mentioned it 2 years ago, referred to the same weather station I mentioned above https://etrp.wmo.int/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=16727

I agree. When we receive direct reports and the station reporting issue is put into a case, engineering reaches out to try to resolve the issue. I have seen hit and miss results over the years and the process is very slow since the fix needed is outside of our control and needs to be made on the station location side or through the middle process before it reaches the Connect Mobile APP and pushes to your watch.
As for any additional information regarding your other questions, we do not have that level of information. Otherwise, I would be happy to provide it.
Do you mean you are not allowed to name the entity who Garmin uses for weather data?
It's not a permission side issue. We are not given specific information to be able to provide more information. Otherwise, we would provide more details in our Support Center articles that work through an issue of not receiving the weather push to your watch from the Garmin Connect Mobile APP.
