HRV data on Enduro

I got a HRM pro to use with my Enduro.

I am wondering if there is a place to access past HRM Stress test data ?

I selected "On"  For "Log HRV"

I can find nothing anywhere, the only place i get it is immediately after each test.  Is there a way to view it on the watch or in Connect ?

thanks.

  • This setting causes each heartbeat to be logged in the FIT file rather than just the rate at each recording interval. Garmin doesn't use this data directly or present it anywhere. It's a bit analagous to turning on 1s rather than smart recording. It gives you a chance to use analyze the source data that is otherwise summarized in the FIT file.

You can access the HRV data by analyzing your FIT file with software like Kubios or Runalyze. Note that for this to be of any use you need to use an ECG HRM. In addition, ANT+ will tend to have significant dropped packets which is probably OK for a simple stddev regression analysis becomes noticeable in HRV data and affects fractal pattern-based analysis like DFA alpha1.

You should use a Bluetooth connected high sample rate ECG HRM for HRV data collection. The Polar H7, H9, and H10 work well.

Some chest HRM may actually do rolling averages or apply some other smoothing algorithm in the device. An HRM that does this will obscure the R-R interval data that you want for HRV analysis. Your mileage may vary.
