I had 8 different products from Garmin with a total value of about $4k.
But after buying mk1, I wanted to buy a watch from another manufacturer.
Sorry gents but this has been the Mk1’s downfall since day one...lack of support.
I would not hold your breath for another update, I suspect we have seen the last update we are going to see. As Odie said, support for the Descent MK1 has been horrid to put it mildly. There have been…
Helo yes i which that garmin support can fixe these problems especially concerning the elevation gain.the mk1 has a lot of potentiels but it needs to be updated.
Even if they just update descent with all the fenix 5 updates regularly I would be happy!

And because of the lack of support for MK1, I have decided NOT TO PURCHASE the new MK2 when it comes out. It would be another bad choice..

There have been a few of the Tech Support staff who have tried, but Garmin as a company has really done a piss poor job of supporting this product.
Sounds like the did with the Epix. No updates and sound of silence from Garmin...
But I bet, they will release a MK2 with AI anyway... (and maybe they will be so gracious and release some (minor) updates for the MK1 (because then the MK2 might sell better)).
Customer product support? What is it called / how does it work? At least not like that (for the MK1 and Epix)!
if they don't update anymore and add some of the basic stuff requested, they definitely lost me as a customer...i was planning to get the mk2 depending on price tag and improvements over the mk1, but after seeing how things work with garmin products probably will stick with the mk1, anyway i don't need ai.
It will be exactly like the F6 but with much slower updates, like the Mk1. They’ll create a new fancy GUI for the Dive Computer but the watch won’t have anything that a Shearwater or another company doesn’t have.
I have the F6x Solar and will NOT be buying the Mk2 or bringing them into my store. Already talked to roughly 15 divers that I sold the Mk1 to and they are either angry about the lack of updates or they have no desire to spend $1k+ every 2 years on dive equipment.
This is how the things go in Garmin. Frequent updates are mainly for mostly sold Fenix, Forerunner line. Other series don't get frequent updates even they're based on the same Fenix software/hardware.
well frequent updates are not that important i think, mostly quality updates are important and the mk1 is still missing a number of that..and falling behind even more as it seems garmin moved all their resources over to the mk2 and there won't be any updates for the mk1
