Ah okey. I contacted the garmin support also and told me that my watch should be replaced.according to you if i repace it i ll still have the same problem
Note that I’m not suggesting the Mk1 doesn’t have issues that can’t be solved but just demonstrating the difficulties with altitude determination which might set your expectations a little lower.
Okey thanks for your help.
I have seen the same over time with my watch compared to other watches from Garmin and Polar. Mine shows less than half the elevator gain than the others do when we run together at the same time.
When i do the same ride i get everytime different readings for the elevation gain
After 2,5 years Garmin seems to have solved the altitude calibrations issue. It now seems pretty accurate, at least compared to my Fenix 6X. Can anybody else confirm this ?
Still the MK1 seems to log with a 15s sampling rate. The curve is not nice but no problem for mountain biking. For skiing this can be more of an issue.
Trying changing Data Recording to Every Second.
Mine has always been on 1 second recording - same problem. I tried smart and utratrak once , but then everything was more than 10% of - running 10k, gave me 9k etc ...
Yepp, having this setting on "every second" does produce a similarly smooth altitude graph as the Fenix6x with the setting on "smart". Of course this drains the battery quickly, a 2h bike ride absorbed 18% of the MK1 battery, in comparison my Fenix6x Solar did drain 5% battery on the same ride.
But most important, the altitude bug seems to be solved, finally.
I stil have prob in tje altitude gain. What should i do withe mk1 ?
