This is what I'm talking about.
If you are doing a Single-Gas dive and want the Mk1 to record your entry location, you need to put the watch into dive mode before you descend. This starts the GPS on the watch and it will actively track your location. Ideally, you want to give it time to get a lock on the satellites so the location will be accurate.
The green ring indicates the GPS is ready.
If you do enter dive mode with GPS ready before descending, this is how your dive should look in Garmin Connect on you phone:
If you don't have the Mk1 in Dive Mode before descending you will get this:
I had the above problem when my Garmin button stopped working and so I couldn't enter Dive Mode before the dive.
If you Edit the dive, you will see the missing Entry Location:
