Safety stop

Hello Everyone !

I saw an issue with DESCENT MK1 which has been signaled by antoher user in this forum (atj777) but still have no answer.

In software 4.00 GARMIN changed the cancelation of safety stops in favor of normal deco if normal deco was cleared before reaching safety stop depth:

** Previously, if NDL was surpassed while below 35 feet, the watch would cancel the safety stop in favor of normal decompression stops. Now, if the deco commitment is cleared prior to ascending to 23 feet (7m), there will still be a safety stop scheduled for 20 feet (6m).

This was a good change for security and comfort but it appears it has been cancelled in 6.00 (i assume its not voluntary has the changelog 6.00 don't mention any dive change.

To my mind, the user should decide to do or not safety stops and it's very weird that when your in a deeper and longer dive the Watch can recommand a shorter stop because it cancelled the safety one. In now you can count you 3 or 5 minutes but its way less comfortable.

I precise I dive in France (that why my English is not perfect - i'm sorry and hope i'm understandable) where you can dive up to 60 meters and have short deco commitment in almost all dives.

So, did GARMIN notice that the change made in 4.00 has been reverted ?

Has it been corrected in 8.00 ?

Is it planned to correct it in a next software update ?

Is there eventually an official way (authorised by GARMIN)  to downgrade ti 4.00 ?

Thanks for answers.
