Reset the dive counter

Hi Garminers !

the MK1 as we all know automatically starts a dive activity when it exceeds a depth of 1.2 m (if i m not wrong). Unless you turn it off or start another activity, any time it reeches that depth will trigger a new dive and keep record of it. It s quite anoying because playing into water or snorkeling would very often trigger a dive.
i know we can delete the .fit files in the Garmin Activity folder (hopefuly) but the dive counter for the next recording will not take this into account.
this number must be kept somewhere, is there a way to manually change it to avoid setting back each «proper» dive's number to the correct value in Connect ?

I did try from both web and mobile app, but the number it increments to is always the one it d have been if i d never have deleted a dive.
My last dive was #14 (???? 100 times less than you triple 7 !)…

I do not have that on my Mk1, do you...??
I do have V 4.00 on my watch.

Actually the link was supposed to take him to the Garmin Support center but you actually discovered something concerning the next update that Garmin is doing. That link takes about CCR and Pool Dives which are a part of the “upcoming” update.

Read the “Update” topic and Heath down the page goes into a little of what’s supposed to be coming.

You can change the dive number in Garmin Connect. Subsequent dives will be incremented from that dive number.

I would change the non-dive you don't want to 0 or 9999 and then set the next actual dive you do to the next number in your sequence and it should start numbering from there.

You can also use this to reflect your actual dive number, not just the number of dives you have done with the Mk1. For example, my most recent dive number is 1630 even though I have only done 151 dives with the Mk1.

I changed the dive number of my previous dives in Connect several times, but i never had the next ones incremented from that corrected number. It always kept counting like if i never changed any dive number, so with quite a gap between my actual last dive number and the one it would record.
Indeed if what you say happened for me, i wouldnt be annoyed, but it didnt. Any idea why ?

Start it when swimming and it will prevent the watch going into dive mode.
And you will get the water temperature at the same time :-)

Have you tried in both the phone app and the web? (although it should work with both)
