Hi, I am thinking about mk1 and first question was about service... Is it possible to replace battery? What is cost ? Should works for 2 years, but I I will pay 1000E will be nice to have possibility to fix it just in case after warranty, I have info, that there is no possibility to change battery, only replace whole mk1... ? Is it possible ? I found this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ioc07fdfjdk but there is no info at forum. Really nobody try to open and check is it possible to replace this batt? :)
I would venture to say that the battery has around 100-300 charge cycle, in that general range before you have to worry about having a battery that isn’t capable of a full charge.
Depending on your usage, you should only have to charge once a week or so, so you can do the math. If it was replaced under warranty, they’ll just send you a refurbished model. If you are concerned about anything, understand that most of these watches are only supported/updated for roughly 2 yearrs. But in the Descents case, that should be fine since the way they update this model, is slower and much more conservative than their other models due to it being a life support sport.
Thx, I am working with batteries ( torches, RC etc.) that is first I asked, and also last time my 18 months Iphone under warranty has second batt ( first was replaced after bulged battery broke screen:) and this one battery looks to going to the end ( 1 month warranty left). I understand that warranty support is only 2 years, but it is normally that after warranty It is possible to change sensor or battery ( suunto) I can do this by myself or pay service,but it should be possible. Price of mk1 is high if we looks for others diving computers , but... this is only one watch / smartwatch I am looking at :)
The Mk1 hasn't even been available for 12 months yet so any comment on the life of the battery would be speculation. I guess some of the prototype/early release models might just be 12 months old but still to early to tell what will happen.
