A dive computer is subject to a nastier environment than on the trails. Was wondering how everyone's Descents are coping with being crushed between cylinders and whacked on boat railings and ladders etc. Have the Titaniums worn better than the steels? Is the bezel replaceable (or does it take off the screen like the Fenix 3). And are the actual watch bodies the same (ie, plastic composite).
My watch face has a small scratch from the first month but other than that it is fairing well. I've done over 80 dives with mine.
I should add that for my first 20-30 dives I was wearing a wetsuit with the Mk1 on my wrist (all shore dives). Since then, I've been in a drysit and the Mk1 is mounted on my camera rig so it is well protected on dives.
I've been very impressed with mine so far. I have ~200 dives on it. Mostly shore dives, a number of cave/cavern/wreck. I will say I'm generally cognizant of where it's at and ensure it's not in a position to get beat around, however it's taken a few tumbles onto the rocks while prepping for dives. I'm not going to say there's no damage, however you have to look very hard to find it.
So far mine has been all limited to the bezel or metal band. The watch face itself looks brand new.
I wear mine all the time, probably have 40-50 dives on it, and it has held up quite well. I wear it on my drysuit wrist, initially between the cuff and my Perdix, but have started wearing it under my Perdix. So the Descent goes on first, and then the Perdix goes on over the strap, so the Descent face is visible just below the Perdix face. Seems to result in less false button pushes.
