Waypoints and HomePort

Hello!

I regularly use HomePort as a desktop app for organizing my fishing coordinates and the like. Given that the Descent is a marine oriented product I use for spearfishing, I assumed it would work well with HomePort. However, I'm seeing a very odd behavior. When I open HomePort it will happily transfer data from the Descent, but it will only show tracks. No waypoints are visible. When I open BaseCamp instead, all my waypoints are clearly there.

Anyone have any ideas here?

HomePort is not compatible with the Descent. To find the devices that are compatible with HomePort, look at the link below:

So, um, you do recognize the apparent absurdity that your DIVE watch doesn't work with your MARINE-FOCUSED map and waypoint management software, right? The one optimized for nautical charts, fishing waypoints, boat tracks, etc? The one divers would probably be using in conjunction with the Garmin chart plotters they use in the boats they dive from? I mean, you include an Apnea Hunt mode. You know this thing is going to be used by fishermen ... who keep track of waypoints and so forth ...

I get that my dive watch is derived from a land-oriented model and thus must come with pre-loaded triathlon and orienteering features to remind me that I'm out of shape and not doing anything about it. I can forgive that. It's a free extra. But really? You can't make it work with the HomePort program I already use? That kinda chafes...

Hello Heath,

Do you know if there any plans to support the descent in Homeport? If not, is there a way to transfer the data from basecamp to homeport and vice versa?

Aahi,

I have brought up this subject a while back and we are looking into it. Until that time, feel free to use the Import and Export option to send information between HomePort and BaseCamp.
