Let’s be very clear to start. The watch is being worn correctly on the wrist. When running, it registers my heart rate correctly. It was compared to a Fenix 3 with a chest strap style heart rate monitor.
My issue is specific to when using the Matrix C5X Climbmill with HR Monitor. The machine gets up to 150 within a couple minutes. During the Cardio activity, the watch takes between 10 and 20 minutes for the heart rate to sync with the machine. The watch usually stays around 90 for those first 10 to 20 minutes. However, when selecting the Bike Indoor Activity, the watch measures my heart rate accurately in sync with the machine. If I createva new activity by copying the Bike Indoor activity, the heart rate fails again.
Garmin says that they could not duplicate the issue. They said they have a similar stair climber machine and the watch worked as expected. I have had this issue on four Descent Mk1s...
PS I would have kept the third watch, which was a warranty replacement directly from Garmin. However, one button got stuck in the pressed position. I had to knock the watch against the counter to get the button to release. It is still a beautiful watch!
