Screen visibility questions

I'm considering buying a Descent Mk1 to replace my old Suunto D3 gauge and I was hoping existing owners could answer some questions about the display screen.

What is the viewing angle like? I do a lot of scooter dives and want to be able to read my gauge at an angle when my right arm is stretched out in front of me holding the scooter handle.
Can you customize the display to show just depth and time in large numbers?
Can you lock the backlight always on or do you have to keep pressing a button to light it up? I don't care about long battery life, I just want to be able to read the gauge during night dives and deep technical dives (minimal surface light) without pressing a button or shining my dive light at it.

When I travel it would be nice to have a single device for both diving and fitness tracking. Currently I also bring a Forerunner 935 with me but I'd like to have one less device to manage and keep charged.

1. It seems pretty good although I haven't tried a lot of angles. I'll have a look next time I dive.
2. No. There's no customisation of the dive screens at all.
3. You can set the backlight timeout to No Timeout so it's on all the time.

I had a look on my dive today. I can read the screen up to around 45[SUP]o[/SUP]. Beyond that and all I see is reflection. Even at 45[SUP]o[/SUP] it was a little difficult.
