Inreach Widget for Descent MK1

Had the Fenix 5x and it had the update with the inReach widget. When will the Mk1 get it? This is extremely important in the event of a dive Emergency!!!
  • I have already passed on the suggestion to add the inReach Widget to the Descent MK1.
  • That would be a nice addition to the Descent! Especially since one of the big seller is being dive watch with all the core functionality of the 5X. It avoid owning multiple watches and swiping for a missing functionality.
  • on the Garmin page for the in-reach mini it shows the mk1 as a compatible devices but I am on v4.0 and there is no in-reach widget to add. I understand the need for safety / more testing before a mk1 update gets sent out but I feel a bit left behind when I look at the Fenix 5x. I have a in-reach mini now and after running in to a lot of errors on the website just trying to set up the billing/plan I find out it is not compatible with my watch. it is not the end of the world but it would of been nice to leave the mini in a spot with good view of the sky and just look at my wrist. I know a lot of charter boats use them to talk to each other and if they are divers too this would be a good selling point.
  • I asked Garmin support about this and they will be updating the website to show that the MK1 is not compatible at this time. I was told that at some point they plan is to add the widget but they where not able to give a time line for that. they did respond fast and I under stand the need to test any changes made to a life support device before it is released.
  • I have no doubt that it will be added but they have some catching up to do with some other features first. Curious on what’s included with the 6.00 update other than the Rebreather Diving feature. I’ve become quite accustomed to using the Instinct and very useful features. I love the built in Sunrise/Sunset, Moon widgets, along with by far the BEST Timer functionality out of any of the Garmin watches I’ve used.
