I plan to get Descent  MK1 But !!!

Is there any comparison between the Descent MK1 VS suunto D4i or D6I
To explain the differences
Now I use suunto D4i and I plan to get Descent MK1
Is the Descent MK1 worth it And replacement
Interested in diving in the first place
  • I’ve played with the D4i but haven’t used it in diving situations. If you’re looking at it from a pure “diving” standpoint, then stick with your Suunto and save $1k. If you’re looking at it from a diving AND multi sport standpoint, then yes it’s worth the money. Work out functions, sport activities, ABC functionality and much much more seem appealing to you, then invest in the MK1.

Understand though, the MK1 is still in its infancy stage and they (Garmin) have a long way to go to perfect but it’s still more than useable.
  • If you have the D4i, why are you considering the Mk1? What is the D4i not doing for you?

If you can answer those questions you're well on your way to determining if the Mk1 is right for you.
  • Yes, atj777 is correct, answer why you want a MK1 yourself first.

I got the MK1 and replaced by D4 also, but be honest MK1 software is not up to D4 standard.
However, I also not regret on what I purchased.

    - MK1 can charge by USB. I forgot how many time, I go for a dive trip and the D4 sudden said it is out of battery. I checked battery is full before diving...
    - As USB charged, MK1 can light up the display always when diving. I hate D4 need to press the button time to time to light the display in dark.
    - MK1 is single device for all sport. I do cycling, running, hiking, swimming, diving with one device
    - MK1 has GPS and record the water entry and surface point on map. Good for log book record.
    - MK1...look nice. I wear it daily
    - MK1 display is very clear compare to D4.

Actually D4 works perfect on diving, especially for dive plan. Suunto software is great...MK1 is dummy...

If by "software" you mean Garmin Connect, then I recommend you look at either Diving Log 6.0 if you are on Windows or MacDive if you use a Mac. Both support the Garmin Descent Mk1 (as well as many other dive computers) and are way better than Garmin Connect which is only very, very basic.

I am using diving log 6.0 and it is very nice!
Is there a way to have seconds instead of minutes in x axis in the profile? It is much better in freediving mode?

Probably not but you'd best ask Sven on his forum: http://www.divinglog.de/english/home/index.php He may even add it for you.
