Can someone explain why Garmin is using Bar/Min instead of L/min witch is the most common? And why isn’t that number automatically calculated if all needed info is in place?
I thought bar/min was the correct way to express SAC. I know both my Shearwater Perdix AI and my Oceanic Atom 3.0 show SAC as bar/min. Doing it this way the calculation doesn't need to know the tank size.
I googled "Surface Air Consumption" and most sites list it as bar/min (or the non-metric equivalent of pounds/min). RMV is what you may be thinking of which is L/min and takes in the size of the tank.
