Descent availability date

I am anxiously waiting to purchase the Descent. I love the FR735xt, and am an avid diver. Since November 1 the website has stated 5-8 weeks delivery....and here we are 6 weeks later, and it still says 5-8 weeks delivery. Does anyone know when it will be available?

i also noticed that the user manual has not yet been posted...so are they fine tuning the features or operation?
  • I’ve had mine for a week now. I haven’t dived with it as yet, but I have been running with it.
  • I got mine about 1 1/2 weeks ago. It’s a nice watch but I didn’t like the band. Put a 5x band on it.

Are you talking about the Silicone band? If so, I can understand why you'd say that. On one hand, it feels too "slick" for daily wear. On the other hand though, it's been amazing for diving. I noticed some of the other bands getting chalky looking over time (crud accumulates in the recesses of the strap after diving). The band that ships with the Descent does not seem to exhibit that same problem.

If you're talking about the Titanium band, I'd be interested in hearing what you don't like. I've loved it from day 1, and regularly dive it in a wetsuit. When I'm in the drysuit I do swap out to the long Silicone band.

I bought the one with the Silicone band. I just couldn’t get the right fit, too loose, too tight. Also, the end of the strap tapers off quicker than the 5x band so the keeper at the end of the MK1 band doesn’t hold as “snug” as the keeper does on the 5x and comes loose all the time.

When I’m teaching in the pool, I’ll wear the standard strap. When I’m in the open water, I’ll switch bands.

  • Where is this watch available? I've been looking at the Garmin website for months now and all it says is "3-5 weeks"

I believe that is the processing time for them to send it to you.

Google local and online retailers in your country. Many will have it in stock.

It’s typically 1-3 days processing when you buy it from Garmin. It’s not available for purchase right now from them. They’re shipping to dealers right now.
  • While the device may not be available thru Garmin.com, you can still purchase the device from authorized dealers. Some samples are listed below, you will have to contact them directly to get inventory numbers. ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1313520.png
