One stupid silly question:
what stand/mean mk in garmin descent mk1?

I haven't seen anything official, but my assumption is that it's a shortened form of "Mark 1". Effectively meaning "first version of the product".

Its origins are from the military. Stands for first generation vehicles and government equipment. But its also used in the civilian devices.
