I am offered the following updates in garmin connect but am reluctant to install.

What is the effect of the change?

There have been no new updates released for the Approach X40. All the updates you are seeing are coming from your Garmin Connect account. Usually, only if you change your profile information for what you have listed out. You can always just click the "x" and clear them from pairing to your watch from within your Garmin Connect account.

- Select the watch icon on the top right

- Select the number in the blue circle for your X40

- Click "x" to remove each update being pushed from GC to your X40
