There was an error installing the update

If your Approach S20 was allowed to fully drain its battery and left uncharged for a period of time, it might be related to the new issue. For Garmin Express to give you the error message, it could be related to an internal issue with your Approach S20 such as a memory issue or file corruption issue. Please reach out to our Golf Product Support team and we will gladly work with you further. When you contact us, we will need you at your computer with your S20 and charging/data cable.

I did reach out to the golf product support via chat. They had me do the same steps i did 5 times on my own.  Uninstall express, reinstall, update.   I still get the same error "there was an error installing the update"  Is there something else I can try before throwing the gps watch away?

There are absolutely still steps that can be tried. Receiving an error trying to install your Golf course updates using Garmin Express is seldom the watch itself. I am sending you a Private Message to work with you further. I will be happy to do everything I can to get your watch working properly again.

I have tried to find a way to remove the software and reinstall it but I have only frustration.  

Hi Rob, I'm having errors with my approach G8. Three of the databases need updating but all three give 'update failed' after a few seconds.
