Putter option missing for sensor pairing - S20

Bought the CT10, paired all other clubs without issue on my S20. I do not get an option for the putter in the list. Any ideas?
  • Same thing happened for me. Spoke with a support rep who told me to use Garmin Express to update the watch software. Even if your device says v4.0.0 etc since the GE app is how to be sure you have the latest watch software / course updates. While I think that was a good first troubleshooting step, my putter still didn't show up until I did a Master Reset (unfortunately)

It was good until I got to the course and then it no longer detected the sensor I assigned to the putter. So at this point I have the option to do another Master Reset and setup my watch for a third time or wait until the bugs have been ironed out with this.

Hope this helps, keep me posted if you have any luck!
  • Hello,

We are aware of the issue/bug related to your post and are working hard to fix and release for our customers.

In the meantime, the workaround is to go to the Gear menu in Garmin Connect and create your list of Golf Clubs you have in your bag (including putter), then sync those over to your watch via Garmin Express. Once synced over, you will see the putter option available to pair a sensor to.

    Hope this helps!

  • Using Lukes workaround I have the putter paired up once again. Just to clarify the Garmin Connect website (as opposed to the app) has the list of clubs. It was self explanatory once I realized that part. Thanks for the quick response!
  • I have a s60 and had same issue , logged in and selected putter in golf gear menu. Then synced my watch, tried pairing again with ct10 and putter was now there.
  • I had the same problem with a missing putter when pairing with sensors, so I added the putter in Garmin Express.
    But...
Now I see a message that I have one post to install called "Golf Clubs" but when trying to install that on my S20 all I get is an error saying "Some files could not be sent to the unit. ", "Golf Clubs (Not compatible)"...

So what is needed to be able to complete that step (so I in the end can add a sensor to the putter also being mapped as a putter)?

Works really well for me. Manage your clubs at https://connect.garmin.com/modern/gear. BUT - make sure that your device (Approach S60) has recorded the score correctly and has moved on to the next hole before you hit your drive. If it does not you will miss record shots against the previous hole.

When setting up the sensor it is registers to one account only. If a different email account is used with the device it will not connect to the app.
  • Hi, have you found a solution or workaround to this, i have stuck with same error all the time with vivoactive 4s

  • My problem was that I had more than the allowed number of clubs active (I think the number is 24, might be 25).  Follow the link above to manage your clubs and then retire the proper number to get yourself to the max amount of clubs.  Then the putter will show up as an option.
