Memory Card

I'm putting a 32gb memory card in my unit tomorrow. Are the maps on the unit now on the included memory card, or internal? In other words, if I replace the card will I loose maps? If so, can they be copied on a computer to the new card? Thanks .

Maps files are not automatically moved to the SD card moved when you install one. Using Garmin Express you can delete the TopoActive or CityNavigator maps from internal storage and re-install them on the SD card. If you have an Outdoor Maps+ subscription you can download OM+ layers via the Map Manager on the device and choose where those layers are saved. See Managing Maps on the Montana 700 Series With Garmin Express and Downloading Maps.

The downloaded map files are locked to your device, so you can copy them to another SD card and use that card in your unit. You cannot use the maps on the SD card on another Montana 700 series unit.
