Montana 700 map route color

All Garmin navigators have used Magenta for the route line since they first had color displays!

Are you talking about the route guidance? As atlas says, it is magenta.

However the default colour for your activity, as plotted on a map, is light blue / turquoise. If that's what you mean then it can be changed. If I remember correctly, your colour preference is retained with the profile. I use red as I found that works best with the UK Ordnance Survey maps.

The main problem is the width / thickness of the route colour. On the previous Montana 600 series it was significantly larger than the map routes, therefore easy to understand which line to follow. With the 700 series the thickness is equal to the map routes making it very hard to understand where to go. Has this been fixed in a new firmware version ? Any plans to fix it in the near future ?

I have read elsewhere that the Magenta Route Line is the same number of pixels wide on the Montana 7x0 as the Montana 6x0. I have not yet verified this observation.

I do not understand what a 'Map Route' is in this context.

When navigating a GPX route, there is always a map on the background ... the map has lines showing streets and roads (that's what I meant with map routes). As the thickness is the same (and sometimes similar colour) it's hard to understand which direction to take in order to follow my GPX route.

Which maps are you using that render streets, roads, trails etc. in Magenta?

I do not believe I have ever encountered this issue using Garmin maps, so I am very interested to find out which maps you are using.

Forget the colour ... my issue is the thickness. On the old Montana 600 and 610 series it was 3 times larger than the other map lines ... now with 700 series is the same thickness making it very difficult to see where to go ...

Here are some screen captures from my Montana 6x0 and Montana 7x0 both displaying the Magenta route line. On both devices, this line is 8 pixels wide.

Sorry , I´ve found that if you shoose the drive mode of screen the lines are wider( I cann´t remember but I think it is in map , advanced.., anyway if you need it I´ll search it for you) . I change to 700i , being very happy with my 62st becouse of the size of the arrow, screen and lines.

Thanks for sharing the screen captures. I'm travelling now (without the GPS). I forgot to mention that I only use it for off-road ... following a pre-loaded GPX route ... and the thickness of the line was 3 to 4 times bigger than on the 700i. Next week I'll upload some screen pictures.
