cant get weather reports to show hourly ones
I believe that the detail interval is 2 hours. This is true of premium whether as well as the standard one.
Note that there is a difference between inReach Weather and so-called Active Weather. inReach whether acquires data for a specific location for the next n days (I don't remember how many days for regular vs. premium). You can have multiple locations (for example, your current location vs. your hiking destination). The data is delivered to device via the Iridium satellite network.
Active Weather is for the current location. It only works when connected to WiFi or via GCM when connected to a phone via BT (and the phone has cell service).
Thanks for your quick reply. Since receiving it I have learnt that Dark Sky which supplied the info
to Garmin have been bought by Apple and that is what stopped the hourly reports. It might be possible to get the info from OpenWeatther using the OneCall API but that is beyond my means.

I am pretty sure that Garmin (and other vendors) are temporarily grandfathered with Apple. Garmin will have to find another provider at some point.
Just tried this. As always, got details at 2-hour intervals for the proper number of days. Tested with a 66i, which is what I had handy. If there is a problem, it's with the 7x0i display, not the report itself.
Hi twolert, what did you try with the 66i?. On the screen of the Montana 750i I can get an actual weather report for anywhere in europe. If I tap the screen it comes up with "Hourly forecasts not available" I can assure you it used to provide hourly projected reports (forecasts). Rather annoying. Wonder how long it will take Garmin to come up with a replacement?
I blew the dust off the 750i. As expected, I got 2-hourly details for a basic forecast at my current location (midwestern US). If there is a problem it is with the availability of data at your location in Europe, not the device. Open a support ticket with your local support organization.
Managed to get it to work okay using API from Open Weather.
It provides 8 days of 1 hourly forecasts which is what I wanted.
Many thanks for the inspiration you gave me.

How?
You need to get Garmin IQ and look for Open Weather Widget and install it
in your Garmin Montana. I also got the free API key from Open Weather and installed it
on my mobile phone. After about a day I noticed that the weather forecasts had returned.
Thank you!
