Garmin Express Syncing

I am using the latest version of Garmin Express and am using a Montana 750i. When I connect my device, it keeps saying "Updates Available" but there is nothing to update. It is already updated. Then when I go to update, all I get is an annoying line that moves left and right and left and right as it "keeps syncing" but it just keeps doing that forever and nothing is getting done. What is this all about and is my Garmin really updated? Thank you in advance. Any help appreciated.

First thing to try is to REMOVE the device from Garmin Express on the PC. Exit Garmin Express, then try again. If that does not solve the problem, open a support ticket.

You could also try a factory reset on the 750i. However, that's a big hammer and may not help. If you do this, you will have to repeat the outdoor portion of inReach activation.

As far as "are you up to date", you can check the f/w version that is installed on the device. Setup > About. See the Software Version at the top of the page.

Note that none of this says anything about map versions, language file versions, etc. It's just about the basic firmware.

Edited to add: The link above usually lags reality. There is a sticky at the top of this group which indicates that 10.90 is the current release for the 7x0i.

See the buttons at the bottom of the page. Depending on time of day and the whims of Garmin, you may be offered phone, chat, and email buttons. If you have the option, use phone or chat. Based on forum posts, email is a black hole - totally useless.
