I see the forum has an entry for version 10.50. The Montana 700i that I have updated to 10.90 this morning from 10.80.
I am interested in knowing what is new with each update.

If you update via Garmin Express, the notes will be displayed there. You can never see the notes again after you update, though.
There is a pinned post at the top of this forum which shows changes in the latest release.
You can see complete history here:

Got there by searching for "garmin montana release notes". That kind of search works for most Garmin handhelds.
Thank you. I'm wondering if I am missing something though. That link took me to release notes through 10.50. Did not see anything for 10.80 or 10.90. There are posts on this forum from Garmin_Christopher for 10.50 and 10.80; probably will have a 10.90 soon. Was hoping to be able to find on my own.
I plugged my 700i into my computer this morning and Garmin Express must have done the update from 10.80 to 10.90 behind the scenes. I never saw the notes displayed. All I saw was a continual failure to sync with Garmin Connect.
I wondered what was wrong and eventually decided to disconnect from the computer and reconnect. That's when I saw the Montana had detected an update and wanted some attention to finish the update.
After that I was on 10.90 and syncing resumed normally.
Yeah, all the various sources of information get updated out of sync.
Garmin Express has sporadic problems syncing with every iR device I have. Never have been able to figure out just when it will work and when it won't. I don't think Express syncs much of anything from the Explore universe anyhow. So i never worry about the sync failures.
Express has a nasty habit of delivering the update file to the device, then telling you "the device is up to date" even though you haven't installed it yet. You really DO need to disconnect the device and reboot it. On the reboot, it will notice new software available and ask if you want to install it. You can decline, but it's going to pester you on every reboot until you install the updates.
It IS possible to remove the update file (the .gcd) from the device if you mount it as a removable USB "disk". Manual process.
