Montana 750i Topoactive Maps problem with Garmin Express.

I have my Montana 750i updated to version 10.9

I am trying to install TopoActive Updates to my Montana 750i but am running into severe problems.

1. I read on this board that I needed to move my maps on my device to SD Card to free up space on the device to install the latest update of Topoactive maps.

2. I moved my CityNavigator Maps to SD CArd.

3. I moved my Federal Lands Maps to SD Card.

4. I removed Topoactive Maps from my Montana 750i altogether.

Now my Montana internal is totally free.

I try to install Topoactive Maps back onto my device and I get the following error:

"Map Changes Failed"

No other comments. Here are screen shots.

I have plenty of space on my device AND my SD card. HELP! Did I screw up my Montana?

Said that the local hard drive space has to be large enough to hold the downloaded map. I cleared up 8GB of space on my local machine and now the download works.

Two suggestions for Garmin Express:

1. When the map updater runs out of the local hard drive space necessary for the map updates, please put a real message such as, “Installing or updating this map requires xxx GB of drive space. This machine only has yyy GB free. Please free up additional space to install or update this map.”

2. The map updater does not differentiate between downloading the map from the Garmin servers and uploading the map to the device. This results in a mysterious status bar for map installations where the first 50% goes very quickly (downloading the map) at 10MB/s while the second 50% of the install goes very slowly (uploading the map to the device).

Please add a message saying:

1. Downloading map from Garmin servers onto local drive.

2. Uploading map to device.

based on the phase of map update.
