Software version 10.50: What's a "course"?

The 10.50 release notes include this tidbit

Added support for creating courses. Courses can be navigated point to point like a track, or using map data like a route

I searched my Montana 700i menus and don't see any mention of a "course", nor to I see it in the explore or connect apps.

Anybody know what this means and how to use it?

Thx, I see what it does now. Doesn't do me much good, what I need is to set some segments direct, some segments routed. Doesn't seem to be an option for that.
