Firmware version 8.50 for Montana 700i

Thank you for the notification.  My Garmin Express programme says the Montana 700i is up to date at version 8.20 as does the the Device > Updater in BaseCamp.  I guess they will be added to this page shortly: https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=15403

Over here my Garmin Express says it's up to date at v8.50. I guess firmware updates are staggered and not available to everyone at the same time. Also wondering what happened to v8.30 and 8.40...

Yes, that's what I thought too - I'm in New Zealand.  Updates often skip numbers  - like the previous updates for this model, 6.4 to 7.1 then 7.1 to 8.2....

Yes, this is normal and it takes, as usual, a few days, until everyone gets it.

The changelog in Garmin Express does not show any changes from 8.40 -> 8.50. All changes are shown, which were already part of 8.20 -> 8.40, but 8.40 got reverted by Garmin for unknown reasons.

There are issues, with the firmware, garmin express, topo maps and it 'till now the issues solved are replaced by other issues. My advice, don't update anything if it works, wait untill Garmin Techies have sorted out whats making a mess of our devices. And let them prove they have fixed it properly, the only thing I can see is updates, pulls and no results worth mentioning to resolve the basic issues like map updates. What I also dislike is that it doesn't accept any bought maps on Micro SD cards that worked in my montanna 650, was this device supposed to be a step forward? If so, someone did mess up the process.

You should be fair, that the whole problems with map updates, installation on computer where related to garmin express and not Montana itself. Tbh, my Montan 750i is running fine and I haven't had any major problems the last 10.000km with it.

Have you found any issues with it??  I'm having an issue with Basecamp not seeing the device when trying to create birdseye imagery.
