Screen freezing

My 700 screen froze yesterday on a hike. First time in about 13 of them. Not happy. I had to restart to fix. Then it did it again. Restart etc.

I asked amazon for an exchange cause I figured it was hardware since I didn't change anything and it was excellant since new. They refused and wanted to connect me to Garmin.

Odd cause I have the settings same as always and did nothing unusual.

Have not seen this recently on the 7x0i. However, the devices are not even close to identical.

You might also try the German forums, where they DO have forums for handhelds other than iR devices.

thanks. did it again today and lost the current track. The menu choices changed on there own. From fit and gps to fit. Also save tracks when full was changed to never. I didn't do it for sure. I have had those setting on all of my Garmins when they were available.

I think it had to do with screen lock.con fused me how it works. I played with the screen lock to learn about it more. It seems if you have the display totally off screen lock will not work. Not lock that is. But with the screen on just a little it will. I like the feature but like any feature you have to learn it's quirks.
