Using an older Garmin map in a Montana 700

I had a 62S and upgraded to the Montana 700. When I installed the Northeast US map that was in the 62S into the Garmin 700 the map does not show the level of detail in the 700 that it did in the 62S. Only the major trails show in the 700 - but none of the old roads and trails. What gives?

    There are no alternatives. Montana 7xx is unique with its specific capabilities. I bought it mainly to use with raster maps (KMZ maps), which are cheap and much better, than vector maps (which I use mainly as a layer just for navigation and routing). I tried to use maps on iPhone - but with bad effects - battery was dead very quickly and iPhone touch screen was useless when it began to rain.

    Yes, you are right, there are no alternatives. I have spent two weeks in French and Italian Alps. The Montana 700 is really good. The Handling with Mobile phones, even with good aps is no alternative.So I have to live with
