camera is not 8 MP

I have a Montana 750i, bought from Garmin Australia

When I looked at the photos the resolution appeared quite poor for an 8 MP camera

I have taken about 30 photos now and all of them are 2592 x 1944

This equates to only 5 MP, not 8 MP as advertised. 5 MP versus 8 MP is a big difference.

I queried this with Garmin support and all I got was a link to "how to use the camera"

Does everyone else have only 5 MP?

Can anyone think of a reason for this?

Is there a setting I have missed?

The camera resolution is configured in 'Setup > Camera' for 2MP, 5MP, or 8MP.

Which do you have configured? (sounds like 5MP)

5MP is default set, you must change it to 8MP

Thank you all, that did it. I just never even imagined anyone would want a lower resolution.
