Loading external maps to the SD card

I read a review from a user who claims he cannot load external maps - Open Street Maps - onto the SD card. I could only do it on the main memory.

Is this true?

Not true... Yes, you can load maps on the SD card. I moved my SD card from an Oregon 650 and the 700i found all the maps on the SD card fine.

I just got my 700i and although I can go thru the steps of loading a map to the SD card, once I restart the GPS the map I moved is still on the internal memory. I hope you are having better luck than me.

I downloaded external OSM maps on an SD card (outside the device) and just put the card in the slot.
