NMEA output from Montana 700 on AMPS mount

I have been unable to see any NMEA messages on the data output of a Montana 700 in an AMPS mount.

I have tried various settings on the Advanced NMEA setup screen (such as baud rate and GSV messages).

The Garmin Textout and Garmin Serial interfaces work ok with the same setup so the hardware and wiring

should be working correctly - there are just no NMEA messages.

Has anyone had success with NMEA o/p ? Is there anything that I might be doing wrong?

NMEA output works with firmware 6.40 beta.

Same issue here. Only Textout works.
Probably a bug in the firmware.

Realterm. A simple Serial Terminal.

Again: it is a serial terminal application.
You don't need any special configuration for NMEA or TXT in it.
It displays the raw output from the Garmin Montana RS232.

I have RealTerm 2.0.0.70 installed but am unable to communicate with any of my Garmin GPSr, thus the question about setup you were using.

Depends on your Garmin select at the tab Port:
Baud 4800 or 9600, none Parity, 8 Data Bits, 1 Stop Bit, no Hardware Flow Control (4800 8n1, 9600 8n1)
At "Port" select your connected serial port.
Only Text Out works here.

You need a USB to Serial DB9 RS-232 converter or similar if your PC doesn't have a COM-Port.
Connect blue with Pin 2, yellow with Pin 3 and green with Pin 5.
