Deactivate the Registration Inreach Message at startup of the Montana 700i

Why did you buy an "i" if you have no intent to use inReach? Should have purchased the 700 (non-inReach) model.

I think for legal reasons, they will never remove that warning because someone would almost certainly try for a pay day claiming they didn't know the inReach part of the device was not functional when they requested a rescue....

That I can tell you. I bought the Montana 700 first, because of that reason. Because I do not need the inReach.
And I also bought the City Navigator Europa map as well, because it was not included. But then I find out that it is not possible to buy a lifetime update for the City Navigator. I called Garmin and asked for that. And, guess what, the answer I got from Garmin was: We are very sorry, but this is not possible. We do not sell lifetime updates anymore, only for old existing devices. Not for new devices like the Montana 700. The only possibility in this situation is to buy every year a new version of the City Navigator for 89 €. That means in 10 years that would be around 900 €. How crazy ist that? That was the reason I send the Montana 700 back and bought a 700i.

Well, that is an excellent explanation. I was not aware they no longer offer lifetime updates for CityNav. Good info. Now you have to see the Activation nag screen every single boot!

Will ad a request to allow the user to opt out of seeing that message, but don't hold your breath!

somewhere I read you only have to do registration without buying any abo then it will disappear.

I dont have a 750i at this moment but think of buying it

I found a Garmin page oin dutch explaining how to stop abo's. If you chose freedom but without activate it you have to pay an annual fee only. when you then stop your abo there will not be a next year annual fee again untill you activate your abo again in that next year. the first year there will be no annual fee again while activating your freedom abo. lookout stopping is different from annulating. thats defintive! reactivating will always start with an annual fee! so I understand!!!
