Using a Tempe sensor

Garmin's website does not list the Montana 700 series as compatible with Tempe. I figured if it works with every other recent handheld it should work with my new 700i, so I ordered one. I can report it works very well and I've verified with other thermometers it is accurate between 80 and 123 degrees. I can't wait to test it between 50 and 80 degrees, mounted to my ATV, but it's August in the desert so that's just a dream for now.

  • No that can't be the case, others have got it all working ok, anyone else got any ideas

  • Paullygb1, please see my posts below, any assistance would be appreciated!

  • twolpert, well looking at the first bit of your recent reply (Didn't see it at first, all i saw was the bit directly above), you WERE correct, looked in the "Current Status" and there it was, very poor from Garmin hiding the ruddy thing in there, so it's now set up, and i can go hiking in the 25c outside in north west Scotland.

Thanks for all your help with, i intend to put a point by point description of how to do this for others to find in the future, perhaps something someone should have done several years ago.

To CONFIRM: the Tempe sensor IS compatible with Montana 700, 700i and this is on Garmins website!
