Using a Tempe sensor

Hi mine works with the Tempe fine

Please excuse my ignorance, I have the temp sensor. It is seen by the Garmin. Where is the temperature actually displayed on the unit itself? I would have thought on the upper screen or where the compass, altitude, act are. Is there a setting I need to turn on?

Hi just add dashboard to your map screen then change item in dashboard to temperature.   from map Screen bottom right settings then add dashboard then unlocked dashboard then touch on of the info squares the select temperature 

Thank-you, so in the 750i I go into Maps, settings.. I have Map Setup, Maine Setup, Measure Distance, and restore Defaults. I go into Map Setup which has configure maps, track Up, Dashboard, when Navigating, and advance setup. I go into Dashboard. There is no add dashboard. On the bottom right settings says no options.

No experience with what the Tempe does (or does not) provide to the connected device. I CAN comment on how you get these things to display on the unit. The only places you can get values to display are on screens which allow you to select what to display.

The "dashboard" at the top of the map screen (or the compass or the trip computer) is one such place (when you choose to use a dashboard which has user-definable data fields - large data field or small data fields). The other place is the Trip Computer. This is much more flexible - a separate dashboard of its own, a bunch of user-definable fields, and the ability to add "pages" with more user-definable fields.

The Montana manual is singularly useless when it comes to this stuff. This support article may help, especially with regard to dashboards.

The principle is the same everywhere. Display the thing (dashboard or trip computer page or map or whatever). Tap the field you want to change. From the resulting list of categories, pick the category containing the type of thing you want. From the resulting list, pick the particular field.

Edited to add: Does not look to me like Tempe is going to provide much beyond current temp, max temp, min temp.

Okay, understand what you say, let me explain where i am with this:

I've put the battery into the Tempe and attached it  to the rucksack

Gone onto my Mon 700 and selected sensors in setup, and told it to search for a new one (no others fitted or set up here)

It has searched and found the Tempe sensor and connected it ( confirmed)

It has put the ANT symbol on screen top left with sat and wifi symbols, so i assume it is working ok

I've tried to change a data point in the dashboard (1)or create a new one on the map setup (2), Tapped on a data and tried to change it in the dashboard (1) and also created one in map setup, set it as small data but neither of these has the temperature sensor selection

The only thing i can find is (a) Todays MAX Temp or (b) Todays MIN Temp, which will go into the data places, but this (Both) are basically useless.

Your thoughts?

I think you might find Temperature (which I assume would be current temp) in the Current Status category. Hopefully, that would come from the Tempe. But I don't really know.

I would have hoped for a category for the Tempe itself. But I have no way to test that. 

I'm out of ideas. If you still do not find all the measures you expect to find, you may have to open a support ticket.

Hard to tell for sure, but it appears that current temp and max/min over the past 24 hours is all there is.
