Has anyone tried to load a map image (Garmin .img)into the Inreach Mini 3 Plus Garmin folder in Explorer. The internal folders of the Mini 3 look much the same as other Garmin GPSs and it would be great to have better maps. (And yes I am aware it's a satellite communicator, not a navigating device as such :) )
Garmin appears to have secured the system against this. Possibility of adding additional maps would have been a great benefit for a lot of users. I would have liked to see that too, not for navigation, but simply for better orientation. The preinstalled map is veeeeeery rudimentary. 
If you have lost your orientation, you need to have a different device with better mapping (phone, Garmin handheld/watch etc.) and/or a paper map or you just have to trigger the SOS 
(no problem for my, because I have almost every time a watch with mapping/a phone and on longer hikes a good paper map with my, but I would like to have better maps on the M3+ anyway!).
