Battery problem inreach mini 2

I bought an inreach mini 2 three days ago. I have a problem with the battery life: the illumination is on the minimum, the track mode is off, as well as the Bluetooth and the ant connections. However, the battery goes from 100% to 0% in 24/26 hours. How is this possible? Can it be because I have my inreach inside my home and so it use all the battery because he’s continuously searching the gps signal ask if I put the track mode on “off”?

  • The Mini 2 will try to connect to the Iridium satellite network, which is used for the inReach features. When it cannot connect, for example due to being inside, the device will just keep trying. This takes a lot of power so your battery will deplete very quickly.

So, take the unit outside and you will see the battery will last much longer.

  • Please see Improving the Battery Life of Garmin inReach Products. As has been mentioned, the most important part of this article is, "inReach handhelds are designed to be used outdoors. We suggest testing the device before you head out on your trip, but do so outside. If the device is powered on indoors, the battery will drain noticeably faster as the handheld will not be able to find the signal for sending/receiving messages or tracking points. Additionally, the handheld will have to try a lot harder to find a GPS signal."
