Inreach mini saying not supported on the messenger and explore app?

I recently bought an InReach Mini mid summer and haven't messed with it until this morning. I downloaded both the Messenger and Explore apps and both say my device is not supported. I have downloaded and installed the latest software on the mini and still no luck. Do I have to have the Mini 2 for the apps to work?

As far as I know, the mentioned app don’t work with the Mini. You have to use the Earthmate app.
