I'd like a clarification on the Enabled plan regarding Check-In messages. Some time ago Garmin changed the "Preset" messaging scheme to "Check-in". In the old Preset scheme you could edit the three messages that could be sent for free, while the new Check-in messages could not be modified. When that switch happened I remember being presented with an option to "upgrade" from Preset to Check-In, which I did not do because that would have permanently disabled the ability to edit those messages (Preset users were effectively grandfathered).
With the introduction of the updated service plans I'm considering switching from Safety to Enabled. I understand Check-In messages cost $.10 (US) each in the Enabled plan. My question is this: by switching from Safety to Enabled, am I also switching from "Preset" to "Check-In" such that I can no longer edit those messages?
