New PLans Dec 24 and how Enabled works

I want to know if Enabled means that when I move to say a Standard Plan for a couple of months, will there be no need to pay an activation fee?

It is not entirely clear to me. Is activation only required after Cancelling, or is required when moving from Enabled to a Monthly contract ?

  • The activation fee is only required when subscribing for the first time or when re-subscribing after having cancelled. When changing plans, you do not need to pay the activation fee.

Also, in the new model there is only a monthly contract, independent of the plan you are in (Essential, Standard, Premium or Enabled).

  • So if I am automatically migrated from Freedom Suspended to Enabled at my renewal time ( late December), when I choose Essential a few months later in May, am I 'subscribing for the first time', or am I already in the club. In other words, is Enabled a 'plan' or not ? From that I can decide whether to remain with Enabled or Cancel and start again in May. Thanks

  • If you are on the Freedom Suspend plan, you are migrated to the Enabled state. This migration happens on your annual renewal date (you can see this in the Garmin subscription portal). Garmin will start migrating on December 1, 2024.

If you are on the new plan you can change between any plan without having to pay the activation fee. You only need to pay the activation fee if you cancel your subscription and later on subscribe again.
