Same as other people it seems, I've tried starting my subscription using multiple cards and each one says gives payment authorisation failure. Banking apps totally fine, I get the auth request and sign it but it fails none the less.

Tried again using my laptop on the website instead of going through the app and it worked!
The web site is always the most reliable, simplest thing. Personally, I stay as far from the mobile apps as possible. Too many of them, with too many moving parts.
That said, the web site is not 100% reliable either. I sometimes find it necessary to clear the cache to get anything to work. YMMV.
