inReach mini 2 show direct lines on the map instead of real route

Hello,

when looking at the map in explore.garmin.com - the track summary - why does it show direct lines on the map instead of real route that was made? Like direct lines of shortest distance, very schematic. How can this be changed to see real route?

What are you looking at exactly in Garmin Explore web?

What you describe seems to be the tracking points that are sent periodically from your inReach Mini 2 via the Iridium satellite network. The interval is configurable and depends on your inReach plan.

A detailed track log is called an activity recording, but this is only stored locally on the inReach Mini 2 and synchronised afterwards with Garmin Explore when you sync via the Garmin Explore app.
