Hi guys. I bought second hand inReach mini firsts version and not sure how to activate it. I tried it over Garmin web but no luck. I tried to call to call center but they're not there during weekends. thanks for your help

First make yourself a Garmin account, then follow the instructions in the link below, you can get the numbers required off of your device. Look in settings under “about “and scroll to the bottom. You’ll want the Garmin explore website page too to set up your messages. Quick text and Check in messages. I think since you have the mini and not the mini 2 you will need Garmin earthmate app, not the Explore or Messanger apps.it may also need to be deactivated from the previous person and probably a factory reset is good too.

When I try to use the Exprore home page it ask me to register new account wit an unit. I tried to put the IMEI and auth code but it doesn't work

The Garmin explore website is used for both the mini and mini 2, then there is the Garmin explore app, it’s different. Because your device is a mini first generation you’ll need the earthmate app. as it won’t work with the explore app. It has less features than the mini2 when it comes to app function. Yes the original owner should have removed the device from his account, perhaps Garmin could help you with that too, I’m not sure how you could do that yourself. After you have an account you will need to enter the IMEI and authorize code here .inreach.garmin.com/.../DeviceValidation
