Subscription Costs "Minimum Annual Cost"

HI All, brand new to this forum. In the overview of Plan Features charts which outlines the costs for the different Freedom levels (month by month)plan, the very bottom line says "MINIMUM COSTS PER YEAR" AU$289. Does this mean, even if I am on a Safety (low texting plan), and only use my device for a month or two a year I will have to pay at least AU $289. Thanks for helping with this ....

You just pay the initial setup fee, then pay the monthly fee for months that your device is activated for, plus a discounted fee for months that your device is on standby (inactive) for. Are you sure that $289 is not the total of the activation fee plus 12 months of active use, without any extra texts/messages beyond what you’re allowed, just to show what the total annual cost would be? It looks like you’re in Australia, I’m in Canada, but I don’t see a minimum cost per year on my Garmin inreach plan website. Can you post a link to your site, I tried to find it but couldn’t? That plan in Canada would be 49.95 activation fee, plus 19.95 per month, so basically $290 per year, but that’s for all 12 months being for active usage and no extra changes, so as you can see I think your AU$289 is just for 12 months of full service, less any extras, and if you put your device on standby for a few months, then yes it would be less.

Hello, it is meaning that is the lowest cost for the annual plan to be active year round. If you are on the monthly plan with annual contract you would pay $20 AUD x 12 plus the $49 AUD fee. If you are on the monthly plan where you can suspend you would have the $54 AUD annual fee every year, plus the monthly plan fee you select. So it could be less than $289 within a year if you only use it for one month.
